Big Charity Marathon at Gostiniy Dvor

Dear friends,

Since Russia’s charity organizations have been hardest hit by the current economic crisis, we decided to hold the Big Charity Marathon at one of the best concert venues in the center of Moscow.

This unique event included performances by world famous artists, renowned actors and actresses, and famous musicians, each one participating free of charge. We included all of our friends and used all of our strengths and abilities to provide help to those in need.

We want to thank everyone who participated in the Big Charity Marathon at Gostiny Dvor.

The Marathon lasted three days – from February 5th to 7th. Each of the events was meticulously planned and successfully conducted.

The gala-concert “Gift of Hope” on February 5th included performances by musician and director Valery Gergiev, violinist Vadim Repin, principal dancer Ulyana Lopatkina, star of European musicals Anna Maria Kaufman, actress Chulpan Khamatova, and musician Yuri Bashmet. The concert raised 2,400,000 rubles for charity, which will be put toward the projects of the Yuri Bashmet International Charity Fund and the “Podari Zhizn” Fund.

The “Zone of Hope” rock concert was held on February 6th, which included participation by legends of Russian rock – the Samoilov Brothers (“Agata Christi”), the famous Russian pop-rock group UMA2RMAN, the popular vocalist Mara, as well as other rock stars. The concert raised more than 500 thousand rubles, which will be put toward the “Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for children suffering from cerebral palsy,” under the patronage of Gosha Kutsenko.

On February 7th, the family-oriented “Sweet Day for people in pain” was held at Gostiny Dvor. Moscow’s best restaurants treated guests to mouth-watering deserts. Volshebnik, a children’s entertainment company, organized a unique program with dancing, entertainers, a chemistry show, songs, and games. In addition, guests attended creative master classes, jumped on a blow-up trampoline, and participated in other activities during this happy, magical day. The event raised 419,250 rubles, which will be put toward a joint project between the “Podari Zhizn” fund and the “Vera” Charity Hospice Fund.
