OGK-2 is one of six thermal wholesale gencos to be created as a part Russia’s electricity industry reform. The company was incorporated on March 2005. It completed its organizational configuration as an integrated company on September 2006 by incorporating five power plants – Pskov GRES, Serov GRES, Stavropol GRES, Surgut GRES-1 and Troitsk GRES – located in the Urals, Northwest and Southern federal districts.
OGK-2’s main activities are associated with supplying and selling electricity and heat energy and with obtaining and purchasing energy from the wholesale market.
The company’s plants have installed capacity of 8,695 MW.
OGK-2 shares were included in the RTS and MICEX“A2” lists, and are also traded as GDRs on the London Stock Exchange.
The company aims to use advanced management and production technology, strengthen its status as a socially responsible business in accordance with international standards, and meet shareholders greatest expectations.
