Nikolay Gavrilov
Chairman of the Board, Eximbank of Russia

Nikolay Gavrilov was named Chairman of the Board of Eximbank of Russia in 2004. Prior to that, he headed the Department of International Collaboration and External Sovereign Debt Management of the Russian Finance Ministry, and he is currently a State Advisor.

From 2000 to 2002, Mr Gavrilov was a member of Vnesheconombank of the USSR, and was Head of its Credit Department and Management of Credit and Financial Operations. In 1995, he began working with the Finance Ministry, where he held the post of Department Head, and then Deputy Director of the Foreign Credit and External Debt.

Mr Gavrilov did diplomatic work at the embassies of the USSR and Russia in Italy from 1988. From 1983 until 1988, he worked in the Soviet Committee for Solidarity between Asian and African countries.

He graduated with honors from Moscow State University, where he studied in the Asian and African Studies department.
